How to reduce your Kling API cost
Updated 2026-10-02
- Draft on Std, finish on Pro/4K. Most generations are throwaway iterations; pay premium rates only for approved shots.
- Don't pin a provider without a reason. Unpinned requests route to the cheapest healthy host; the table shows how large the gap can be.
- Request the clip length you need. Billing is per requested second at creation.
- Avoid duplicate jobs. Polling is free; re-submitting because a job is slow doubles the bill.
- Set a monthly cap per key. A runaway loop is the most expensive bug.
See the quickstart for the request format.
Using Kling is one part of the job.
VideoRouter puts it next to dozens of other video and image models behind one API key, so you can compare providers, prices and fail over automatically. Compare providers on VideoRouter →
