O3 (omni) versus v3: pricing both rows without fooling yourself
Updated 2026-10-02
Kling's omni line is positioned around richer inputs, such as reference material and editing modes, while v3 is the general text and image-to-video line. People searching for "O3 vs v3 price" usually want one number, but the honest answer is a method: two rows can be priced fairly only if you match the tier, the length and the inputs, and then separately account for whatever extra the omni row lets you do. This page walks through that, without claiming one is better.
Match the rows before you compare the rates
A fair comparison fixes four things:
- Resolution tier. Std, Pro and 4K differ in price on v3 (see the price-gap guide). Compare the omni row's tier to the matching v3 tier.
- Clip length. Cost scales with requested seconds, so use the same
Lfor both. - Host. The same model costs different amounts on different hosts. Compare cheapest to cheapest.
- Inputs. Text-only against text-only, or image-to-video against image-to-video. An omni job that uses a reference is a different job from a plain v3 job.
The live table lists each Kling row with its tier, cheapest host and priciest host, so you can pair them:
| Model | Cheapest host | Priciest host | Cheapest is | Hosts |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| kling-o3 (720p) | SandBase $0.0588 / second | Tencent TokenHub $0.084 / second | 30% lower | 4 |
| kling-v3 (2160p) | SandBase $0.294 / second | Tencent TokenHub $0.42 / second | 30% lower | 8 |
| kling-v2.6 (std) | WaveSpeedAI $0.042 / second | Kling $0.062 / second | 32% lower | 2 |
| kling-motion-control (std) | Atlas Cloud $0.1071 / second | Novita $0.1575 / second | 32% lower | 2 |
| kling-v3-turbo (1080p) | Pika $0.112 / second | Tencent TokenHub $0.14 / second | 20% lower | 5 |
Per second, before VideoRouter's 2% platform fee. For tiered models each row compares the resolution tier with the widest host-to-host gap. Built 2026-10-02 from the live catalog.
If the table shows the omni row at a different resolution or tier than the v3 row you are looking at, the gap you see is a tier gap. Say so in your own comparison.
What extra inputs can change cost
The base maths is unchanged, billing is once at creation from requested seconds with free polling and no charge for upstream failures:
job_cost = rate(row, tier, host) x requested_seconds x f
Extra inputs can alter the cost in three ways, and you should check each against the model page and VideoRouter's video generation documentation rather than assuming:
- A different rate. Some modes are priced differently from the plain generation mode on certain rows. If the documentation or the model page lists a separate rate for a mode, use it.
- Different billable seconds. Some modes bill by the output length, others involve the length of an input clip. The motion-control article shows how a seconds definition changes the cost per job; check whether your mode has a similar rule.
- A different duration limit. Reference and edit modes may constrain length. A cap changes how many jobs a given amount of footage needs, and so the total.
When the docs are silent, do the cheap empirical check: run one short job per mode on a capped key and compare the dashboard charge with rate x L x f. If they match, the mode adds no surcharge for that case; if they do not, use the observed ratio in your model.
Budgeting method for a mixed workload
Most teams use several modes in one pipeline, for example plain v3 for generation and omni for revisions on approved shots. Build the budget per mode, then add:
total = sum over modes m of:
n(m) x L(m) x rate(m) x f / k(m)
Here n(m) is the number of accepted clips you need from mode m, L(m) their requested length and k(m) the acceptance rate. The acceptance rate is mode-specific and often lower for edit modes, where you are asking the model to preserve some things and change others. Measure it per mode on your own material.
Then check the budget against real clip costs. The table below gives 5 s, 10 s and 60 s costs at the cheapest host for each row:
| Model | Tier | Cheapest host | Rate | 5 s clip | 10 s clip | 1 min of video | 1,000 × 10 s clips |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| kling-video-v3-omni | 720p | SandBase | $0.0588 / second | $0.294 | $0.588 | $3.53 | $588 |

Computed from each model's cheapest current host per resolution tier, before VideoRouter's 2% platform fee. Built 2026-10-02 from live data. Failed upstream jobs are not billed; re-generations are, so multiply by your retry rate.
Questions to settle before you pick
- Do I need the extra inputs at all? If a plain text or image prompt does the job, you are comparing rows you can both use, and the lower cost per accepted clip wins.
- If I need references or editing, which rows support them on which hosts? A row that cannot take your input is not a candidate, whatever its rate.
- Does the cheapest host for the omni row support my mode? Pinning a host narrows the price range, so see why prices differ by provider. A
model/hostsuffix is a soft preference; a hard pin needsprovider.onlywithallow_fallbacksset to false.
A worked way to present the result
When you hand the comparison to a colleague or client, show the inputs, not just the verdict: the two rows, their tier, the host column used, the requested length, your measured acceptance for each mode and the sample size behind it. A reader can then redo the arithmetic and challenge any assumption. A comparison that cannot be reproduced from its inputs will not survive the first change in rates.
A note on newer releases
Kling 4.0 was announced on 2026-09-28 and is not available on any host in the catalog yet, so nothing here covers it. This page is rebuilt from the live catalog, and a new row will appear in the tables when a host lists it.
Use the calculator to compare the two rows for your clip lengths, and the Turbo versus Std article for the acceptance-rate threshold test, which applies equally here. When you are ready to measure, create a key and keep a spend cap on it while you test.
Frequently asked questions
How do I compare Kling O3 omni and v3 prices?
Match resolution tier, clip length, host and input type, then compare the per-second rates in the live table. Pairing mismatched tiers is the most common error.
Do reference or edit inputs cost extra?
It depends on the row and mode. Check the model page and the video generation documentation, and verify with one short capped job comparing the charge with rate times seconds.
Is the omni row more expensive than v3?
Read both rows at the same tier in the live table. The answer can differ by tier and host, so the table is the source of truth.
Is Kling 4.0 priced here?
No. Kling 4.0 is not available on any host in the catalog yet, so it has no price in these tables.
